The historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman continue to strengthen under the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani highlighted the strong bilateral ties in a speech he delivered at the seventh meeting of the Bahrain-Oman Joint Ministerial Committee held yesterday.

The two ministers signed three memoranda of understanding, including one between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy of Diplomatic Studies of the Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Institute of the Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of studies. diplomatic, research and training, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of electricity and renewable energies between the government of the two countries, and a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Bahrain Tourism Authority and the Oman Consumer Protection Authority in the area of ​​consumer protection.

Minister Al Zayani praised the event for strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, expressing hope that the joint committee will undertake the task of implementing the agreements and memoranda of understanding that have been signed with the aim of serving both countries and peoples.

It was held under the chairmanship of Minister Al Zayani and his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.

In attendance were the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Oman, Dr Juma bin Ahmed AlKaabi, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Oman’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Abdullah bin Rashid bin Ali Al Mudailwi, the Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Ambassador Dr Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, and a number of senior officials on both sides.

Dr Al Zayani also expressed his thanks and gratitude to all senior officials from both sides who are contributing to the development of relations between the two countries.
