Hamieh discusses bilateral relations with Italian Ambassador


The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, on Thursday received in his office of the ministry, the Ambassador of Italy in Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardiere, and they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the support of the Italy in Lebanon in the efforts to overcome the current crisis.

Discussions also focused on the activation of the twinning and cooperation project between the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut and the Italian General Directorate of Civil Aviation, which is based on training. civil aviation security personnel according to a concrete action plan.

Minister Hamieh stressed that the basis for the success of any project depends on good governance.

Regarding the reconstruction of the port of Beirut, Hamieh stressed that the master plan of the port is governed by three constants which derive from the sovereignty of the State over its facilities, the improvement of services and the increase in income.

Ambassador Bombardière, in turn, indicated that her country is historically an important economic partner for Lebanon, stressing the importance of reaching an agreement between Lebanon and the International Monetary Fund.
