Mohammed bin Rashid, Egyptian President. examine the growing bilateral relationship

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, met Egyptian President Abdul Fattah El Sisi on Thursday, at Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo , in Egypt.
The meeting, which reflects the two nations’ commitment to further strengthen their relations, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Egypt. The 50th anniversary of the ties is being celebrated in Cairo from October 26 to 28 under the slogan “Egypt and the UAE…One Heart”.

His Highness and President El Sisi reviewed the growing bilateral relationship between the UAE and Egypt and explored ways to further strengthen the engagement between the two nations in a wide range of areas. President El Sisi expressed his gratitude for the support given by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to Egypt, which highlights the strong historical, economic and cultural ties that unite the two nations.

Sheikh Mohammed said Egypt was one of the first nations to express support for the establishment of the United Arab Emirates, immediately after the union was announced. He noted that the citizens of the United Arab Emirates have a deep connection with the people of Egypt, which he described as the cradle of human civilization and the great homeland of the Arab people.

“I bring the greetings of the people of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt, which the founder of the United Arab Emirates called the heart of the Arab world. Without Egypt, Arabs have no life,” His Highness said. “The stability of our region and the development and well-being of the Arab world are deeply intertwined with those of Egypt. Egypt’s stability is vital for the prosperity of the region,” His Highness added.

“The bilateral relationship between the UAE and Egypt is a model for relations between Arab nations. The 50th anniversary celebrations of our relationship are a message that the future of both nations is deeply intertwined over the next 50 years, economically, socially and culturally,” His Highness said. “Egypt and its people have been staunch supporters of the United Arab Emirates since the founding of the nation. Egypt was and will remain the link, the treasure and the brother we cannot do without,” His Highness noted.

President El Sisi welcomed His Highness to Egypt, saying the bilateral ties between the two nations are deeply rooted in history and a common culture. He expressed his gratitude for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s support to Egypt, which has helped the two nations steadily strengthen their relationship over the years.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid invited President El Sisi to make Egypt the “guest of honour” for the upcoming World Government Summit to be held in Dubai in February 2023.

Other dignitaries present at the meeting included Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, President of Protocols for the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates; Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library; and Mariam Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
